At Design Portfolio, we’re always open to new perspectives – especially when they help us sharpen our thinking and challenge the status quo.
That’s exactly what happened during our recent collaboration with Aston University student, Zoe (Duyen Nguyen Hoang Nhat), as part of her MSc in Strategic Marketing Management.
Zoe spent time with our team in person, working across multiple functions and quickly becoming embedded in the day-to-day life of the agency. From helping us shape our “Sustainability Report is Dead” webinar, to introducing the team to the delights of Vietnamese coffee, Zoe brought more than strategic insight – she brought real cultural curiosity and warmth.
As part of her final business project, she worked with us to analyse and enhance our marketing strategy. Through detailed analysis of our digital presence, content strategy and client engagement, Zoe delivered a roadmap that built on our strengths while highlighting clear opportunities for future growth – including SEO, employee advocacy, and digital storytelling.
Julie Wilford, CEO, Design Portfolio commented;
Zoe brought a level of curiosity and professionalism that truly impressed us. Her ability to understand our business and offer thoughtful, actionable recommendations was invaluable.
For us, the project was more than just an academic exercise. Zoe’s strategic recommendations have fed directly into our internal planning and helped us reframe the way we approach marketing in a fast-evolving, competitive landscape. Her structured approach, fresh thinking, and commitment to understanding our business made the partnership genuinely valuable.
We’re proud to share that Zoe was awarded a First for her work – a brilliant achievement, and one that reflects the quality and depth of her research.
Huge thanks to Zoe for her contribution, and to Aston University for facilitating such a valuable partnership. We look forward to continuing to support the next generation of marketing talent.
